＜Mind Without Fear＞ 　心に恐れのないとき

Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high; 　　　　
心に恐れなく、こうべを高くあぐるとき

Where knowledge is free; 　
知識がたれにも解放され、

Where the world has not been broken up
into fragments by narrow domestic walls; 　
偏狭な壁により、世界がいまだ分断されざるとき

Where words come out from the depth of truth;
コトバ、真実の深みより湧きいずるとき
　　　　
Where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection; 　
疲れを知らぬ営為が目的に向かい真っ直ぐ腕を伸ばすとき

Where the clear stream of reason
has not lost its way into the dreary desert sand of dead habit; 　
清澄なる理性が、死の習慣の砂漠にその道を沈めることなく、

Where the mind is led forward by thee into ever-widening thought and action---
汝が導きにより、心が高邁な思想と行為に向かい進みしとき

Into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake.
